Heavenly Socks Yarns

February 2009

In February, all books, patterns and magazines will be offered at 20% off. New spring/summer yarns will begin to arrive over the next few weeks.

New in the shop this month:

Ruca: Want something sugary which won't swell your hips? This sport/dk yarn (shown at right) is made of 100% sugar cane. Feels like silk!

On-line Wellness sock yarn: This yarn contains aloe vera. We always saw it as a gimmick, because it will wash out, so why pay more for sock yarn?

However, customers have pointed out that the aloe is for your hands while you knit, not necessarily your feet.

Feather and Fan Multi-Textural Shawl

This month our theme is love. Try knitting this gorgeous Feather and Fan Multi-Textural Shawl in tones of bright and dark red. Be sure to put a little glitter in it like we did.

One of our joyful customers, who did us the favor of posing for us on the fly, is shown at left wearing the shawl tossed over one shoulder. We told her, "Think tango!" and we think she did.

Click Feather and Fan Multi-Textural Shawl to access the free pattern on our Web site. It's a great way to use up all your odds and ends of novelty yarn!

Our e-mail address has changed from heavenlysocksyarns@verizon.net to heavenlysocksyarns@myfairpoint.net. We'll be reminding you each month of this change in our newsletter.

WomenHeart, the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, is sponsoring a Heartscarves project. Just knit a red scarf, and WomenHeart will do the rest. All scarves will be given to local WomenHeart patients, as a cozy reminder that they are not alone. This shop will be a drop-off point for Heartscarves.

Get smart about your heart! Click WomenHeart for more information.

Department of Peace

Thought of the month:
One of the great things about working at the shop is talking with people. As we transitioned to a new president this month, one customer said, "I wish President Obama would appoint someone to head a Department of Peace."

Feel free to make a poster or button of the image at left.
